Alex Hough

Alex is an interdisciplinary artist grounded in popular culture. He is fascinated by paper-based methods of collaboration, zines, and revisiting the culture of Stoke-on-Trent.Alex began his creative journey in Stoke-on-Trent by co-creating Bomb Magazine (1993–1999) with his brother, Ned. Together, they established a creative hub at 98-100 Crewe Road in Alsager, where they ran the magazine. Today, the space is home to Two Doors Studio, a shop selling local arts and crafts.After his time with the magazine, he took copies of Bomb to MMU’s Alsager campus and gained admission to the Contemporary Art course, where he studied creative writing and visual art with the goal of working on magazines like The Face. He now plans to publish another edition of Bomb.
