Tekno Andy

Tekno Andy (known on releases and line-ups as Tekkaz) works at the intersection of composition, sound design and increasingly -code. His sonic identity formed early: long-wave radios and CB chatter at home; the shock of Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds; game music obsession on the Commodore Amiga; and teenage experiments with trackers like ProTracker/OctaMED and early MIDI synths. Through the 2000s he moved between hardware sequencers and computer workflows, arriving at a hybrid approach that values hands-on control, fast iteration, and reliable performance.

From being involved in late night after club venues such as The Sunshine Café and Dreadheads back in the days of Stokes 90’s rave scene He co-founded and supported LOAD, an electronica night built to champion live electronic music and non-house forms (its 10-year mark landed in 2018). In 2019, he became closely involved with the Alsager Synth Meet feeding into the “Synth Meet Noodler,” a live set constructed from jam fragments, later expanded with his own material. Post-pandemic, he helped establish Electric Tentacle, Stoke’s monthly EMOM launched in 2022, which continues to platform new and seasoned artists in an intimate, high-impact setting.

In the studio he releases under several aliases and maintains a back-catalogue of unreleased sketches and near-finished albums; expect synth-led, cinematic pieces through to club-leaning instrumentals, all with clean mixes and a retro-future glow.
