From fine dining to giggles over biscuits, it's been all about networking this week and getting our week back to a steadily managed routine... As well as good food that is.

Stoke-On-Trent College Employer Gala
  • We were invited to an event at Stoke-on-Trent College that celebrated and discussed apprenticeships and the companies that helped to provide them and enjoyed a delicious fine dining three course meal provided by the talented students at the college.
  • One of our students Mitchell, did a presentation discussing his journey to the course he's on and how he came to work with us.
  • He also got to show off a video he recently did as a promo package for an artist called Brian Wood, a local ceramicist and was deservedly celebrated afterwards his awesome work.
  • Our founder Darren, also had a few words to say before they introduced Mitchell, that we thought were worth mentioning because of how true they are. "When I began my journey in the creative industries over 20 years ago, it was a challenging time, finding my footing and seeking out opportunities. That experience inspired me to grow Centre Space Arts, with a clear mission: not to be gatekeepers of creativity, but to open doors and create opportunities for the next generation of creatives. "

Photos are back on track - Stoke, Everyday
  • Last week was spent getting back into the groove of things for everyone so we didn't book any shoots as we spent our time putting things into place and running around ourselves.
  • This week, we're back on it, with photographs of unique business owners and others lined up for this weekend, which we can't wait to do.

Cool artists we met with this week
  • Simmi - She is a multimedia artist who recently did a project called Mother Moon, mainly using spray paint and different tools and techniques to create beautiful moon based creations on canvas.
    (Original Simmi Sandhu Art)
  • Anil - He is an international artist who creates stunning and detailed busts of people, from heads to full length, carving interact and detailed sculptures out of clay, that can take months to create.
    (Anil Sculptor - Anil Sculptor)
  • Wedgwood - He is old friend of the crew, who spends his time creating beautiful and surreal photographic based work, from books to hand crafted collages.

Newsletter update
  • As it's been the mentioned before, the newsletter is pretty news still so it required a bit of trial and error
  • We are keeping the newsletter, however we are going to trial a monthly newsletter starting this month.
  • Our next newsletter will be released next Monday and will be to let people know about events we've been a part of as well as events we've got happening in May, so look out for it and if you haven't already, you can sign up here!

Smithfield Work
  • We spent some time this week with Adele (community manager of Smithfield Works) by planning future project and also collab plans for promotion as well.
  • Adele and Darren sat down together, with a brew of course, and just had a good chat, we also happened to record it as well.
  • We look forward to sharing this with you and give you a glimpse of how we work and proof as to why just speaking to people is so important, as well as having a good laugh.
