It’s always tricky to pin down exactly what we’ve been up to (note to self: we should record it better in advance); this week’s been a mix of old friends, new faces, and plenty of creative adventures. From exploring old factories with the camera to catching up with the crew and soaking up amazing local art, it’s been a week full of inspiration and fun.

City Stories Vol 2:

  • Two incredible artists Craig and Danny have teamed up for a joint exhibition called City Stories Vol 2; a show pulling together their interesting encaustic tiles and designs. It’s a great mix of their shared skills and their own ideas that show their individualism that can be created using the same skills and medium.

  • Surreal vibes – the work swings from hard hitting and personal to the down right cheek(y) and it really is a brilliant collection that shows just a small portion of what ideas and creativity can be created with this one timeless well crafted skill.

  • It’s showing at Winkhill Mill in Stoke-on-Trent, until the 18th October so if you can get there, then go and meet the guys and learn more about what they do. It’s a perfect excuse to support two well-loved artists and soak up some creativity.

Larger Prints of Zines:

  • We've been experimenting with A4 versions of the zines; they just feel that bit more special in your hands and are a limited edition to our ever growing collection.

  • Bigger pages basically mean more space for the words and images to breathe, people have been giving really lovely feedback on the larger scale editions

  • If you’re interested and fancy grabbing one? Then let us know and come and grab one.

Building Development:

  • There’s something special about poking around old industrial spaces, camera in hand, seeing how much the spaces change over the year.

  • Recently, we were given the opportunity to recreate a few old photos step by step of a particular site, and it’s wild to see just how much things have changed, for better and worse.

  • Honestly, this has been so much fun, and we’re buzzing to keep doing more of it. Looking at different spaces, exploring with a fresh eye and places that hopefully have a fresh lick of paint too (or not).

Sociable Networking:

  • Nothing beats bumping into old friends and picking up conversations alongside new ones.

  • From spontaneous catch ups over a brew or bumping into mates by coincidence at other networking events and art shows.

  • We had some proper catch ups with some people we haven’t seen a lot of lately, people like Claire, Chris, Kelvin, Steve and others in between. It’s great to discuss everything from upcoming project ideas to who buying the biscuits next time around, we always leave these conversations feeling lighter and more inspired for whatever is coming next.
