The rain definitely hasn't stopped us this week, we've been meeting up with lots of people, making new friends and new future collaborators. We've also been out of the city with our good friend and associate artist Alex and as an added bonus we've got some exciting news to share as well.

Networking:

It's been a pleasant week filled with people...

  • We met a young artist called Lilly who creating beautiful, alternative and realism based paintings. We have been speaking to Lilly about coming on board at CSA and being one of our resident artists.

  • It's always great chatting with with Alex; the last couple of times have been to discuss upcoming plans for the zine, networking plans and plans of expanding out of the city (more info to come soon)

  • This week, we finally made time to sit down properly with a friend called Ayad, who we get to see at many different events but rarely have the time for a proper sit down, so it was so lovely getting to know more about him and also what potential collaborations there are together, and course to set up another date to meet up for a brew.

Stockport:

  • At the weekend, we were invited to Stockport, to visit Alex to have a bit of a tour of his favourite place to visit, - it also happened to be the day of the Stock Party, a street party celebrating the many amazing independent businesses in the city of Stockport.

  • From starboard shops to brand new coffee shops and the Mersey Workshop Studio, we visited many incredible places and basically spoke to people everywhere we went.

  • Alex has this incredible talent for just talking to people, watching Alex and Darren work as team to network, chat and also discuss the zine Benchnotes to so many strangers (that are now at least good acquaintances) was really awesome to see.

  • Despite the sporadic torrential downpours of rain throughout the day, we had an absolute blast speaking to people and basically being given a lovely guided tour by Alex of his current hometown and we can't we want to go back.

Big News:

  • Now onto the big news, we can officially say that we have our own unit in the Potteries Centre in Hanley!

  • We have teamed up the the staff of the shopping centre to take on a space and make a safe creative, exciting space that will be filled with artwork, workshops, work space and be a venue to anything creative.

  • It'll be a place for workshops, for art display; it'll be a great space that look forward to putting our stamp on and bring it to life in true Centre Space Art s fashion, for you all to come and be a part of!
