Finishing on a positive note

As you're aware, the end of year has crept up on us and quickly so. That doesn't mean we're not busy though, if anything, we're on the up and up, as well as preparing for next year's plans. This might be a bit longer than normal but I'll do my best to summarise what we've been up to on our last week before our little festive break.

Warm This Winter:
  • Last Saturday, we had our final exhibition by the talented Sally Kawamura.
  • It was lovely as there was a variety of different crafts to do, there was a blanket making session as well as a washing line that was created to be able to decorate fun clothes templates as well as being able to write your thoughts onto the patterns.
  • The great thing about these workshops is that everything has its place to added to the room, to grow and bring the living to life at bit at a time.
  • This Saturday will be our last day of our exhibition but don't be fooled, our work on the project isn't finished yet.
  • We've been doing some more filming this week, including speaking the the Emmaus Emporium manager John Webbe to put towards the documentary that will be released next year.

Networking:
  • On Tuesday, we did something a little bit different, if not a little experimental.
  • The Centre Space team met up with an incredible working coach by the name of Katie Poole.
  • We explored meeting formats, everyone's opportunities, people's skills, thoughts about the organisation and more.
  • It really was an amazing morning that really opened up the floor for everyone to talk and we took things from it that we'll want to implement into our meetings as well.

Inspiration:
  • This week we were invited to a photography exhibition by Shot Up North, based in Salford.
  • It was a launch party of SUN35 and it contained work from 50 different photographers based outside of London.
  • Despite the torrential downpour, the turn out was great and rightfully so, as the studio is beautiful. Each floor has its own personality and the work on display was stunning.
  • We met the hosts, the artists, judges and others like us that we there to dhow support and see what's going on in the Talford art scene.
  • It was a great evening, we met some interesting and very talented people, including those the put it all together every ear to support professional artist who want to move forward their careers.

We have some incredible projects coming next year and some awesome collaborations coming up, so be sure to keep up to date with our blog, as it's only going to get bigger. So from everyone at Centre Space Arts, we hope you have a brilliant holiday break, no matter what you get up you. Do your best to stay safe and stay warm.
